For example, 100% of Henkel\u2019s U.S. electricity demand is currently covered by renewable energy. To help cover the demand, the company entered into a virtual power purchase agreement<\/a> to create a new wind farm.<\/p>\n The process of making and transporting the ingredients that go into cleaning products also contributes to the carbon footprint of cleaning. Companies in this part of the supply chain are striving to produce ingredients that will help make the final product more sustainable.<\/p>\n Novozymes, for example, uses biotechnology to optimize enzymes that go into laundry detergent<\/a>.
