Celebrating Global Recycling Day

Less than 20% of recyclable material is actually recycled, around the world. Later this week is Global Recycling Day and a good time to bring attention to the importance of recycling, the work currently being done, and what more can be accomplished together.

To be sustainable, we must meet our current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. This involves working toward a circular economy, where packaging gets recycled and doesn’t sit in a landfill. By optimizing the use of the planet’s resources, we might avoid the creation of waste altogether.

The cleaning products industry is committed to doing its part to help make this future a reality. You can help by choosing products that are recyclable and made from recycled materials. Then check out our Cleaning Products Recycling Guide so you know how to help ensure the container material can be remade and end up back on store shelves.

Let’s use this day as an opportunity to recommit ourselves to recycling and make it a part of our daily lives. Whether it’s setting up a recycling station at home, encouraging our workplaces to implement recycling programs, or supporting businesses that prioritize eco-friendly practices, every small action makes a difference. I’m grateful to see initiatives and organizations around the world raising awareness about recycling’s potential and advocating for sustainable practices. Together, we can create a global movement that fosters a circular economy and preserves the beauty and biodiversity of our planet. Today, I pledge to redouble my efforts in recycling and encourage those around me to do the same. Let’s celebrate Global Recycling Day not just today, but every day, by making conscious choices that nurture the Earth and secure a brighter, cleaner future for generations to come. Happy Global RecyclingDay! ♻️
