Clean and Happy New Year’s Resolution Keeping

If you’re one of the many people who’ve resolved to keep their homes clean and happy in the New Year, you’ve come to the right place for some easy tips for keeping your personal promise. According to our most recent National Cleaning Survey, we spend about six hours per week cleaning our homes (on average), focusing most often on bathrooms, floors, and appliances. And, of course, there’s laundry. We say that’s more than enough time to achieve your goals.

Here are a few of our helpful hacks!

  • Set a time of day (maybe just before bed or while dinner is in the oven) to pick up clutter around the house and put it away (or toss or recycle it)!
  • Create a calendar and pick a chore a day to tackle. Rotate the tasks based on how often you need to do them. For example, you may do laundry once per week, but only dust once every few weeks. Take a leisurely walk around your home to be sure to include all the things you want to cross off your list each month.
  • Start a cleaning product supply list so that you have the products you need when you want them.
  • Get others in on the act! Choose appropriate jobs for others in your household, and then you’ll have more time to spend together.
